Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, initially released for the GameCube and following in a long line of Donkey Kong franchise games, was released May 4, 2009 for the Nintendo Wii.

The game has been updated to be compatible with more traditional Wii controllers and the designers have added even more moves to the ape, swinging him a far cry off from the barrel-tossing gorilla from the original arcades and platform games of the eighties.

Levels have been remastered and updated, as well. In this version of the game, Donkey Kong is the hero and will avenge the destruction of his jungle at the hands of some banana stealing baddies.
