In March 2009, Gameloft released the remake of the classic MECC edutainment title, Oregon Trail, for play on the iPhone. Not many seems to have notice this though.

The Oregon Trail

With the same feel as the original Oregon Trail that was so popular in grade schools across America in the eighties and nineties, the new iPhone version will add many tweaks and updates, serving more like a sequel than a remake.

The early versions of the game featured a simulation of a wagon train headed west, peppered with humorous but realistic disasters, such as death by dysentery. The new iPhone version will add more historic figures and different routes to pep up the playing experience. It is slated to harbor a $5.99 download price tag.
