Originally released for the arcades by Midway in 1992, Mortal Kombat has become a very prolific series. It was instantly popular, earning it ports to most of the home consoles ever released, such as the SNES, MSDOS, Amiga and the Genesis in 1993 and many others with subsequent sequels and re-releases.
Catch phrases from the game became popular. We all have heard the deep radio announcer voice demanding the player to “Finish Him!” There was the “Fatality”, which was not only an incredibly bloody move, but a word that became a standard video gaming term. The original game was controversial, sexy, taboo, risqué, violent, funny. Funny? No, there was’t really a lot of humor in the original Acclaim games. However, just a bit of modification and the game can be grossly and sickly humorously. Maybe not so much grossly or sickly as Dorkly. Check out the vids.
