The 2011 Game Developers Conference has announced its plans to honor its gaming dead as part of the 25th anniversary of the event. The event, scheduled for February 28th to March 4th in San Francisco Moscone Center, plans to have eleven special panels to reflect upon some of the most influential games of our past.
The post mortem panels will include, but are not limited to, DOOM with John Romero (the co-founder of id Software); Populous with Peter Douglas Molyneux (famous for God games and business sims); Prince of Persia with Jordan Mechner (creator of Kareteka, PoP was his second offering); and Maniac Mansion with Ron Gilbert (also of Monkey Island fame).
