It has been blowing around for some time that Square Enix is intending to release Chrono Cross, the sequel to Chrono Trigger to the Play Station Network. Currently, it has a confirmed Japanese release, but it looks like an American release will also be available.
Perhaps better news is the fact that the original Chrono Trigger, circa 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, is being prepared for mobile devices. More information will become available as the game grows closer to launch, but a teaser site has been launched to keep people informed.
Given the history of Square software on I-devices, an Apple compatible game is likely. Perhaps even better news is that the officials at Square Enix have said that sales of these two re-releases will dictate development of a new, third game in the series.
