Ok, when we think of SEGA’s flagship games, probably Guardian Heroes isn’t the first one to pop into our heads. Still, this classic RPG-laced beat ‘em up, circa 1996, won the hearts of most of the gamers who dared to buy and try.
It was originally created for the Sega Saturn, but a 2004 sequel also hit the Game Boy Advance.
Now the original Guardian Heroes is back, with updates for HD television, of course. Planned to hit XBLA some time this fall, experts expect it to range between $5 and $10, a bargain at twice the price for some of these golden oldies.
The updated version will allow for online cooperative play, and will feature several different modes to make certain that this old game doesn’t get old. Story Mode and Versus Mode are pretty standard and self-explanatory, but Guardian Heroes will also feature a timed mode, an arcade-esque version, and “Arrange Mode, “ which is a total enigma.
