Fans of the old Sega systems…rejoice! A new game is on the verge of release for the Sega Mega Drive, aka the Genesis. Tagged as “Star Odyssey”, this Super Fighter Team production has already been beta-tested on a live audience an seemed to be pretty well received.

Star Odyssey is a science fiction themed role playing game based on a planetary alliance that goes asunder. The story seems well-developed, though maybe not terribly original. Still, it should provide a great new direction for fans of the Mega Drive.

You will have to sit through several translations in the video, but you will get some great screen shots of this pending release. It will work on both American and European systems, and should be available before mid-2011.
