Bungie Software released the classic arcade style first person shooter, Marathon, for the Apple Macintosh late in 1994. It was the pioneer in what was to become a trilogy of similar games.
This futuristic single or multiplayer game takes place on a colony spacecraft called Marathon. The ship is invaded and the gamer, a security officer on board, will be tested to the limit as he tries to do his job and defend the colonists.
It was an oldie, but a goodie and thanks to long-time fan and indie coder, Daniel Blazek, Marathon will soon be available for the iPad…an almost natural modern platform, given Marathon’s Apple beginnings.
The version will be free to all and will be released soon…once Blazek is happy with his work, which has been years in the making.
