Classic gamers looking to increase their library of titles for the Famicom can now do so in fine form, quickly and cheaply. It might not be in the manner that most people are accustomed, but it is an interesting offering, nonetheless.
Hong Kong based retailer NDSCardSale offers an online shopping experience that really caters to classic gamers. They have recently added a substantial collection of Nintendo Famicom titles to their online catalogue. However, these cartridges do not offer a single title. Most are multicarts that host at least three titles.
Of course, most of them are bootlegs of the 1983 console’s titles. Still, some of the multicarts combine series and related titles in formats that make sense and can really cater to people in love with a particular trilogy or genre.
For example, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle trilogy is on a single cartridge. The Contra cartridge offers a couple of dozen versions of the game. The Adventure Island trilogy has been lumped together onto one cart.
Cartridges sell for under $3USD and there also “Famiclones” available for people who do not own an authentic Famicom but are still interested in playing the games.
