Like any other industry, the world of video games is often filled with rumors and speculation. Everyone wants to get the scoop on new releases and get the fans hyped up the latest and greatest thing to hit the market. While it works out some times, other times fans are left broken hearted when the reported port is only a myth or a gaming company scraps a game half way through production. Perhaps that is why many developers are so tight lipped about their projects.
Sega has been fending off rumors about its commemorative game Sonic Generations since it was announced. First, people debated the content and what characters, levels and powers were going to be rehashed to celebrate twenty years of Sonic the Hedgehog. Then the speculators jumped to platforms. Just where was Sonic Generations going to go?
Sega, in the company’s Sega Blog, has finally confirmed that SG will be made available for the personal computer. These boxed editions will only be available in Europe and will be released late in November of 2011. Sega calls the move “the best kept secret in gaming this year”. They aren’t too far from right.
