Nintendo Wii is announcing the upcoming re-release of A Boy and His Blob from developers WayForward and publishers Majesco.

A Boy and His Blob is a completely hand-animated revival of the 1989 NES release: A Boy And His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia. Game Boy released a sequel a year later. Both are platform games revolving around the misadventures of the hero Blobert and his quest to destroy the big foozle.

The Wii’s version of this award-winning title is “a whole new game” and cannot be considered a remake, such as Metroid Zero Mission, according to Director Sean Valesco.
