I found Diddy Kong Racing to be a somewhat fun, but also forgetful game. This is a game where you must have friends over or it is just not very fun.
You race all of the tracks in the game, in groups, and then race a boss. You collect balloons by winning races. The balloons are like power stars they unlock new levels to race against the AI. With enough balloons you can face the boss. I found the bosses to be impossible. take the dinosaur for example in the third time racing him at 2 in the count down he takes off I was so surprised that I forgot to start. The rest of the bosses are a walrus, a dragon, and a pig lord sith guy.
I found the graphics to be okay for Nintendo 64 you can definitely notice clipping issues and the polygons. Take for example every single character arms.
The races are very fun especially if everyone is in an airplane because that allows freedom of movement and full range for your heat seeking missiles.
Overall, Diddy Kong Racing is one of those games that are good for their single player mode. My score is a 7 of 10.
