i intially found harvest moon slow to get into. it seemed that all i did was plant, water, eat drink and sleep. this pattern seemed to go on for ages. also the little gnomes/pixies in the cave seemed to take my mushrooms and say they would bring something back and it never happened. also the days seemed to short to accomplish anything. the game did get better as i was able to buy chickens and coes. although it was annoying having to take time to brush them.i would think it better to skip the brushing and just keep it to feeding and watering and milking. i also found the trips into town to purchase things slowed the game down. i think it would have beem better to just have an order placed so when the guy comes to colect the crops, he lso drops off the required goods. the horse and saddle bags help to get things done much faster but more than one silo and goods depot on the property would also be beneficial. the graphics were good for there time and i liked the animals. it would be good if the dog or cat actually came looking for you rather than just wander around. i had hoped that this game would be more like colonization as far as crop selection adn mining and other livestock choices but i guess it had to be pretty basic in the 80's. i admit that i didnt travel very far into the game as i seemed to get bogged down with the clearing of land and constant eating. i think the game would be better served by having set working times adn no need to resupply energy levels during those times. it would have sped the game up and kept the interest level up. The need to always return to the shed to get a new tool was also annoying. you can carry two tools as once but it would be quicjer to be able to carry more - like in a wheelbarrow or tractor. maybe these options are available if u travel further into the game. i did enjoy the feeling of satisfaction to see ur crops grow and then get harvested. i am from a farm and so it did give you a sense of accompanishment to see your crops sold. Overall i think thsi game has good qualities but would find it hard to recommend. the length of time it take to get into the game makes it hard to instantly bond to and i would probably suggest playing something else
