Widows Mobile is touted as being an experience "just like your PC grew legs". It features a lot of the Microsoft standard software, such as the Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook Express, wrapped up into a small, portable device with cellular smartphone capabilities. You can email, manage your office, social network and chat, basically do anything you can do on your desktop PC, including play games.
Through Microsoft's Windows Marketplace for Mobile, you can purchase and download applications for a small fee. Many games offer free trials, so you can try before you buy. They are played in the same manner that other applications are managed on the Windows Mobile, via a keypad and/or touchscreen. Like an actual computer, Windows Mobile runs on several operating systems, depending on the year and model.
Because Windows Mobile has such powerful capabilities above and beyond a smartphone, PDA or handheld gaming console, it was not terribly affected by the most popular products in each of these categories. Still, it puts enough resources into the gaming facet of its system to offer a variety of decent games that are popular and marketable. There are also many remakes and lesser-known games available. Some titles include Guitar Hero 3, Mytopia, 3D Snow Rally City Stage, and Ka-Glom. There are also old favorites, such as Texas Hold 'em, bowling games, and golf games. |
